HOT-TOP combines the elegant shapes of a minimalist design with the laws of physics. Developed together with engineers from the Enzo Ferrari Department of the University of Modena, it optimizes natural heat radiation by exploiting temperature-related and color-related emissivity to rationalize consumption.

The black surface of the reflective body emits maximum radiation at every temperature and wavelength. The black surface and anodization thickness have been calculated to maximize emissivity. A cross section with decreasing thickness draws heat from the heating elements to spread it evenly to the side. The longitudinal ribs increase the radiating surface intensifying the irradiance and allowing the rays to spread further, correspondingly extending the range.

Optimizing the insulation between the radiator and the upper part of the body allows the transmission of a high percentage of heat to the people to be warmed. The insulation system also includes some technical measures to reduce the effects of thermal bridges. The durability of the product is guaranteed by a careful choice of materials.

The shielded heating elements are siliconized to achieve IP67 and keep them from moisture, thus protecting their life and avoiding short circuits. The operating temperature is 340 °C to maximize the emission of infrared rays while remaining below the degradation limits of the anodization.
